Rai
Rai (pronounced as "Rye") is a lively and
affectionate red & white boy. He was whelped in Italy and was transported
with his former family to the US. Outside he loves to do the B-500 around
the yard and to go for walks. Inside he loves to climb on your lap and will
lavish attention on everyone he meets. And while he would like to sleep with
you on your bed, he's perfectly happy to sleep in his own on the floor. He's
housebroken, not destructive and does not climb the fence. He gets along
with other dogs mostly but can be too pushy sometimes which leads to him
into a little bit of trouble. He's not afraid to stand up for himself. Rai
does well with children aged 13 and older.
He is not crate-trained (although he will tolerate it in
the car), and does not like having his nails clipped or his teeth and ears
examined, so he does need a muzzle at the vet’s office. All these things are
being worked on in his foster home, but will need continued work in his new
home. For this reason, an experienced Basenji owner is preferred.
If you think you could provide Rai with love, activity, and evening
cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete
the BRAT
adoption form (if you have not previously done so)
and contact BRAT coordinator,
Michelle & Bruce Martenis. The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will
ask you your name, e-mail address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for your family, a
typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to
transport the dog. |
