Reilly
Reilly, is a happy, healthy, and active young Basenji
girl. Currently being fostered in York, PA, petite Reilly can be shy and
timid at times, but is a well-socialized girl. She enjoys playtime with
other dogs and gets along well with people; both adults and children.
Reilly suffers from separation anxiety and does not like
to be left alone. As a result, she really needs a home environment where she
has other canine companionship. Reilly also has displays some of the (stereo)typical
Basenji traits, most notably a love for chewing things (she has a special
fondness for shoes). As a result, she'll do best in a basenji-savvy home
that can provide lots of supervision. Without supervision and/or distraction
Reilly has the potential to be house destructive. Some of her other typical
Basenji traits include being a good climber and an excellent jumper, meaning
that anything she shouldn't have must be kept out of reach to help her avoid
mischief. Reilly also has a tendency to try to bolt out doors, so care must
be taken.
Reilly is mostly housebroken, but she still needs to go
outside more frequently than her foster siblings. With attention and care
she should be able to avoid accidents. When it's time for bed, Reilly is
willing to sleep on her own dog bed if you cover her with a blanket, but she
much prefers burrowing under the covers to sleep with her people. Reilly is
not crate trained, however, and does not tolerate being crated as evidenced
by the worn enamel on some of her front teeth caused by trying to free
herself from confinement.
All-in-all, the family who takes little Reilly into their
home and heart should expect athletic scamp and be prepared to provide lots
of time and energy to help tire her out ... making the evening down times
more relaxing for all.
If you think you could provide Reilly with love, activity, and evening
cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete
the BRAT
adoption form (if you have not previously done so)
and contact BRAT coordinator,
William Key. The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will
ask you your name, email address, your city and state, why she is perfect for your family, a
typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to
transport her. |
