Barbie and Ben

Hi! We need someone to LOVE us and make up for lost time! My name is Barbie and my best friend in the world is Ben. Our owner crossed over the rainbow bridge and a nice neighbor took us in until they came upon hard times. Then we came to BRAT who is helping us find a forever home. Will you be that home for us??

Our foster mom says we are really good dogs…. Super sweet. I know Ben is but I like to tear up my dog toys (WHAT FUN!!). We weren’t sure what being inside a house was all about but now we realize how nice it can be. Boy we sure were missing out. We have our own crate, which we share, and are house trained (Ben sometimes forgets, but he is getting the hang of things). Can you open your heart and give us the love we desperately want and need?? I promise we’ll give you lots of love in return and try to be the best dogs ever.

Ben is 3 years old (tri-colored male) and Barbie is 5 years old (trindle female). They are lovely, good dogs, crate trained, and even share their food bowls, switching without even a glance at the other. Both are very calm dogs and very quiet. I’ve only heard 1 yodel out of Ben. Barbie likes to yodel. Barbie loves to shred her toys, but not her blankets in her crate. Ben has just now decided that coming in the house means lots of love and attention, and play with Barbie too! He’s recently started playing with toys… (I don’t think they really knew what toys were). Ben has the most soulful eyes.

The ideal home for these two (hopefully placed together since they are such good buddies and have been together all their lives) would be one that can work with them to fine-tune the essentials. (Walking on a leash, and for Ben, not marking in the house.) Older children are fine. I’m not sure what they would do around cats or other dogs. Barbie wants to be an escape artist, so a very secure yard is a must. She was accustomed to running free. Both were recently fixed and micro chipped. Their shots are updated until August 2008.

If you think you could provide Barbie and Ben with love, activity, and evening cuddle-time, please read the data sheet below carefully, complete the BRAT adoption form (if you have not previously done so) and contact BRAT coordinator, Denise and Brian Vertrees. The coordinator's link will take you to a form that will ask you your name, e-mail address, the city and state you live in, why this dog is perfect for your family, a typical day in your household, and, if applicable, how you plan to transport the dog.
